Same issue for me.
I always have to pass by the desktop mode to have the mode tv.The combination of touch gives nothing at with me.

I don't have any clear idea ... sorry , it's very difficult to imagine the problem and a solution without a system in front ... and I have only my AS5002T to run test and validate ... and I can't reproduce your situation ...
1 what is your CPU/IGP ? , perhaps a difference in driver or kernel module compare to mine
2 did you try the forceAlwaysFS to true in plexmediaplayer.conf ?
3 what are your ADM and Xorg/Asportal version ( I have only (one Asustor) test with last ADM 2.7 and beta Xorg R29 and corresponding Asportal 1227
... I can't test with previous ... and I know that previous Xorg can have some problem in some circumstance (ex. OpenPHT tearing)
4 please provide (even again) the plexmediaplayer.log and Xorg.0.log corresponding to a fresh session
5 don't hesitate to ask Plex forum dedicated to Plex Media Player ... the code use is 100% the code provide by Plex team
... build have been totally created (so mpv lib, with git ffmpeg with last code from Release source of Plex (so not Git to have a stable code)

A last point exist ... I have no idea of the part provide by Asustor (to compare to mine)
is it same kernel module and driver, is the Xorg call other piece of code due to your IGP, is Asportal is different ... no visibility for a user like me ...

I try to modify the file as soon as possible.
My nas is under adm 2.7.0RF72, asustor portal 2.0.3r1227 and x.org 10.14.7.r29.

Hi,

I have now (not identified before) a problem on my system
The plexmediaplayer home folder is not as usual linked to /usr/local/AppCentral/pmp/home/plexmediaplayer
... but in /.local/share/plexmediaplayer

I don't know why and how ... I have to recheck all ... seems it's linked to new Asportal (because the shell had not changed ???? )
So if you search for log ... verify the time stamp of the file to be sure to get the good one

So perhaps your test with scale mode or with forceAlwaysFS ... can be not apply if you change the previous plexmediaplayer.conf ...

F.Y.I. in fact now you can force full screen directly in settings (I don't see it before) last option in Main menu "Force Fullscreen Display" change auto to the second proposal (your screen resolution minus one pixel ...

Apologize not a so good idea to change all ADM / Asportal / Xorg and new pmp at the same time ...

I will work on it A.S.A.P.

You can update BUT your settings can be lost ... due to an enormous error (mine) in previous delivery, sorry for the inconvenience.

... it's a folder name plexmediaplayer
... it can be in /.local/share/plexmediaplayer or in /root/.local/share/plexmediaplayer or ...
... ... best use PMP, get the time ... them search in logs folder of plexmediaplayer folder the log and compare the date
... save it ALL .local/share/plexmediaplayer in safe place
... before using PMP125 cp the structure in /usr/local/AppCentral/pmp/home/ to have in home/.local/share/plexmediaplayer

... BETTER is to restart from scratch ... not a long list of parameters to set ...

(open a console; go to /usr/local/AppCentral/pmp, run run_pmp.sh ... get the error or ... )

a) black screen with the icon mouse
b) forced closure

run_pmp.sh => -sh: run: not found

try ALWAYS with scale mode first ... because depend on QT relationship with Xorg ... you can be running but "out of the screen"

you can't run run_pmp.sh as is ... do

examples :
./run_pmp.sh --tv (tv mode)
./run_pmp.sh --desktop --fullscreen (desktop mode without top bar)
./run_pmp.sh --scale-factor=1 --fullscreen (desktop with scale to screen base resolution in fullscreen)

DON'T be afraid by Web mode ... ALL including TV mode are Web mode (the difference is 1 in presentation 2 in settings more accessible in TV mode)
ALSO study the keyboard shortcut do switch from one mode to another F11 or <SHIFT>F11
... ATTENTION it's a toggle switch (so for ex. desktop - f11 - desktop windowed - again F11 - switch to TV mode ... (so please read the documentation )

FYI, just a NAS restart and it works. I will try another restart ASAP and check if that still works
