Much thanks Philippe's great work for this.
PMP2 is greater than openPHT, I really like this version to run in Asustor Portal.

Hi Philippe,

I cannot install this version in my AS3204T, but work in AS6102T.
As I know, these models are all intel x86_64, and is this related to the "model" definition in config.json?
I just try some little testing sample, and I found model can be config with 32xx for AS3204T model.
Could you kindly to help revise the version to support 32xx?

Thanks for your great work for this again. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Hi Philippe,

Really thanks for the work.
It can install and work normal in my AS3204T now.

PMP2 is greater than openPHT, I may change to use this app from now on.
Thanks again.

Re: [PlexMediaPlayer 2.7.0] Open to ALL USERS

Post by father.mande »

Hi,

Please find in first post a link for the update of Plex Media Player 2 to 2.7.0
Plex Media Player v2.7.0 is now available to all macOS and Windows users.

ADDED:

Added Plex News
Added scrolling to dashboard header type buttons when more than 5 buttons are visible
Swapped the Record and Play buttons on Live TV item screens
Desktop web-client updated to 3.41.2
FIXED:

Fixed possible endless buffering at start of playback
Fixed short movie/episode summary alignment
Fixed version count not showing up on poster lists
Fixed the recording schedule not displaying an empty message when no events are displayed
Fixed the next airing wrapping to two lines on the recording priority page
Selecting "Sign Out" after selecting "Switch User" from the app's home screen no longer shows homescreen content below the confirmation modal
Don't know if others change exist ... open ticket to the Plex.tv support don't have any response for the moment.

Have fun.
Philippe.

No choice except ALSA ... because Asustor DON'T set other sound system like pulseaudio, etc.
A part of the ALSA are for the internal analog device like ALC887-VD in AS5002T (my model) ... so only HDMI selection can works
example of audio device for PMP2 in my AS5002T

Code: Select all

List of detected audio devices:
  'auto' (Autoselect device)
  'alsa' (Default (alsa))
'alsa/default:CARD=PCH' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/Default Audio Device)
'alsa/sysdefault:CARD=PCH' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/Default Audio Device)
  'alsa/front:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/Front speakers)
'alsa/surround21:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/2.1 Surround output to Front and Subwoofer speakers)
'alsa/surround40:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers)
'alsa/surround41:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/4.1 Surround output to Front, Rear and Subwoofer speakers)
'alsa/surround50:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/5.0 Surround output to Front, Center and Rear speakers)
'alsa/surround51:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers)
'alsa/surround71:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Analog/7.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Side, Rear and Woofer speakers)
'alsa/iec958:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, ALC887-VD Digital/IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output)
'alsa/hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=0' (HDA Intel PCH, HDMI 0/HDMI Audio Output)
'alsa/hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=1' (HDA Intel PCH, HDMI 1/HDMI Audio Output)
For pass-through it's a configuration problem (even Plex don't encourage pass-through (perhaps to don't fall in problem with Dolby or other company only able today to use law action ... due to the lack of any updated technologies ...
Tip!: We do not recommend enabling passthrough as the first thing you do. Only do that if you are very well informed about what it entails, because it’s probably not what you want here. Plex Media Player has the capability to perfectly decode most “HD audio” formats, and enabling passthrough creates drawbacks that you likely want to avoid. The “Plex Media Player decode of audio vs. Passthrough” section near the bottom of the article has useful information to read before enabling passthrough.

Philippe.
NB I am out of my labs for some days ... so I can run a test to verify ... (even I don't have AVR but use an HDMI audio extractor to a basic audio DTS / Dolby decoder ...

Thanx a lot, for your great explanation and your great work here!
I have allready read the explanation by plex but cant believe it.
And iam wondering, that OpenPHT has passtrough but PMP2 not.
And i also test all avaible audio settings in PMP2 but the only that has audio output ,was ALSA/standard with PCM :(
I hope you succeed with the test.

I am out of my lab for a week (or a little more) ... so I can't run test (again, because i test it before ... but not for all limited update (based on changelog))
But please, provide here the plexmediaplayer.log and the Xorg log
to verify that the EDID receive is correct ... so identifyed

Because on my system ... I use the HDMI audio output (always ALSA because no other audio device is proposed except seems inside some APKG T.B.C.)
