Cannot Access Syncthing...Port Forwarding Configured

Syncthing replaces proprietary sync and cloud services with something open, trustworthy and decentralized. Your data is your data alone and you deserve to choose where it is stored, if it is shared with some third party and how it's transmitted over the Internet.

Note:
Syncthing will use the port 8384 for GUI management, and port 22000 for Sync protocol.
Please make sure to open the port forwarding via the ADM\Ease of Access\EZ router.

Cannot Access Syncthing...Port Forwarding Configured

Post by SCRon »

Hi,
A layman AS1004T home user here. All the apps I've installed are working and accessible except Syncthing. I'm getting ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED when trying to open it. I checked Port Forwarding and all recommended ports are open. Google Chrome is open in the Windows firewall. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Plex, Fileflex and SoundsGood apps are working fine with a similar config.

Did you try it in LAN first?

Sorry but not sure what that means:
1. I used portal to install Syncthing on the AS1004T
2. I opened ports on router (Asus AT-AC68U)
3. I verified Google Chrome is open in Windows Firewall
4. Status is green for Syncthing in EZ-Router setup
5. When I try to open app I get:
192.168.0.63 refused to connect.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

I don't have a proxy server.
I turned off all antivirus and firewall and still get same result.

I did not try it under portal. You should check it using your PC with a browser.

Ok got it. I downloaded into my windows pc and works fine there. The problem is that I can't use it with the NAS unless I map drives. I would like to be able to use the app that is supposed to be available within the NAS. Thanks for your help...

I'm not sure what you mean. You'd better to describe it in details (every step and it's better to have screenshots).

I had AS1002T with the same CPU armv71(32bit) with yours.
The docker version of syncthing in asustor APP is linuxserver/syncthing, which had an issue with armv71 CPU.
It will cause "libreadline.so error relocating operation not permitted symbol not found" error while loading the linuxserver/syncthing docker image.
Two solutions: 1) install native syncthing binary not the docker version for armv71.
2) install syncthing/syncthing docker image rather than linuxserver/syncthing docker image.

Hi,

Just for your information

Syncthing is provide (native) in Entware APKG (as +2000 others packages)
... so with auto start at boot, update easily (internal or through Entware (opkg) in case of breaking version ... very, very rare ...)
... just install (opkg command), run a first time, configure, restart ...
