Hi,

I am please to announce a port of OpenPHT (PlexHomeTheater) 1.8.0 (last) on NAS
MOST IMPORTANT NEWS : ... now based on KODI/FFmpeg official versions ...
... it use a specific HOME FOLDER in /home/newpht1.6/
... please test and return

F.Y.I. first port under Ubuntu will be done near June 8 then June 16 for 1.6.1 ... new ffmpeg 2.8.7 libraries with patches are added (so NO usage of default ffmpeg if exist)
... then port to NAS ... then adapt to NAS architecture ... then do some tests

Update available from 1.7.1 NOT from previous version (1.5.2 is based on XBMC Frodo (12) ... 1.7 is based on KODI 16) normally you keep your settings available ... you must have to save it (in case of) and you can put it in the NEW FOLDER if you need to restart with your previous settings ...

SOLVED ... FLICKERING TEARING in menu ... this problem don't seem to come with OpenPHT ... even if you use Plex Black Edition skin it's reduced ...
... Now we can confirm it's linked to previous Xorg delivery
ONLY tested with AE_ENGINE=ALSA (for Kodi motor audio engine) ... so if you have sound problem :
... 1 think to uncheck audio passthrough ... AND BE SURE to have selected the GOOD audio HDMI output
... 2 suppress it (the AE_ENGINE line) and try

Today we announce the release of OpenPHT 1.6.2.
This release includes an important fix for compatibility with Plex Media Server 1.0.0+ and builds for debian, ubuntu and new embedded devices.

Don't be worry ... all is understandable ...

I can suggest to you to restart asportal after install 1.6.2 or do the install after a boot ... for some reason (that I don't understand) if you have run some old version of Xbmc (the case with openpht 1.5.2 ... based on Frodo) and if you start the new one (based on Kodi) ... sometimes you are in front of a black screen (even plexhometheater run ... )
if you have some knowledge ... open a console, kill plexhometheater ... restart (relaod) asportal ... restart openPHT
if not ... just try a reboot ... the short way
or if you have 1.5.2 ... uninstall it reboot, install the new version ...

Also things to uninstall 1.5.2 (this is also to clear some old libraries ... that now obsolete ... with kodi 16.1 (inside plexhometheater ... )

NB I fall one time in this situation ... but due to the fact that my AS5002T is my dev. NAS and also my "user" NAS ... I can't clearly split the two
NB2 remember the remarks in the announcement post ... 1.5.2 run as well ... 1.6.2 run well but you can have some tearing / flickering NOT in playback music or video BUT in menu ... it's under investigation (because same binary don't generate this on similar plate-form ... so not easy to debug ...)

The issue is different (1) for me and similar (2)

Explanations
1)
a) if OpenPHT 1.6.2 is enabled => i can't see the icon of OpenPHT (so i can't launch the app)
b) the "arrows" of ASUSTOR Portal have disappeared (probably linked to the c) below)
c) a list of icons has also disappeared (youtube, chrome, chromium, netflix - by ASUSTOR, virtualbox)

2) if OpenPHT is disabled, the screen becomes black. The issue stays : even if all is disabled (x-org, ASUSTOR Portal etc) => black screen with only the "mouse" icon

3) the only way to solve the point number 2 : reboot the NAS + uninstall and reinstall all the apps : ASUSTOR Portal + x-org + remote center + webbrowser etc

4) No issue with OpenPHT 1.5.2

FYI NAS AS7004T (Haswell CPU)

I don't understand ... because I can't reproduce it ...
I will try to clean my AS5002T and redo a full clean install just to be sure

If your screen is black ... with mouse it's just Xorg running (ex. you have a short time this when switching from Asportal to hx-engine)
So perhaps the problem is linked to asportal ? is it same as in AS5002T ?
OpenPHT is a "normal" Asportal application ... so no way to kill asportal itself ??? easy to verify by looking in the asportal folder in APKG folder

If OpenPHT is running (look in a console) , try just to kill it and disable OpenPHT by command line and , then reload asportal

If you know how :
... if plexhometheater run (verify in a console) ... can you before killing it get plexhometheater.log and Xorg.0.log and provide it here ...

Perhaps linked to an Xorg different libraries linked to IGP ???

OK I have discover the problem ... no need to kill all or uninstall

it's an error (I have already fall in) due to the fact that asregister (Asustor asportal program that register the applications) that segfault ... because asregister DON'T CHECK the syntax of the json file supply with application ...

In this case it's a (simple) typo error : (you can see an extra " in the name line )

This typo error not managed (no check syntax) is provide as is to the libjson.so ... that crash ...

I have no possibility to add syntax check to asregister but I can solve the problem by deleting the extra "
