Serviio as kodi (and a list of media player / media server) are under Dolby licence constraints (not the software nor Asustor by itself) BUT due to the fact to provide software officially (so by Asustor or under its responsibility (in App. Central)) WITH hardware is under a potential law pursuit by licensing company (that seems to don't provide any things new ... so try to win money ... by creating a law link between hardware and software able to manage some Sound engine)

So Asustor can't provide anymore this software (because the price requested for Licence (global) seems enormous compare to individual licence) ... so Asustor (and other NAS & severs brand) remove it to avoid pursuit and to keep correct price for hardware provide by us.

The software can be available if it's totally not linked with hardware (so 100% original open source + 100% open source scripts to adapt to the environment + ZERO cost for all) AND if it is NOT provide by Asustor directly in any manner (App. Central).

searching in the forum ... permit you to get version not build and not supported by Asustor and respecting the rules here before of some software in the list ... like serviio

At any time new software can be impacted ... because the list of potential software with licensing IS NOT PUBLIC ... so ... it's a hidden "Damocles sword" under the head of NAS and server provider ...
