Hello everybody.
I'm trying to backup a folder but every time I get files and sometimes even folders in my main backup folder.
Does anybody know how I can stop this?
I get the Asustor folder with the pc name folder in it and I'm fine with that structure.
eg. \\<Nas Name>\Backup\ASUSTOR\>PC name>\Drive#E
For some reason allot of files get moved to the main folder (ie \\<Nas Name>\Backup) and not the correct folder.
This is very annoying as i want to use this on mutliple computers and can't have files flying around from multiple users.
I suspect the cause of this is that the path is to long and the developers didn't account for this in some way.
Anybody know how to fix this or request a patch so it can be fixed?
Thanks in advance

Oops, I did not encounter this problem. And I think your might be right about path depth. You should report it to asustor: http://support.asustor.com/

I contacted support and was able to make a test case proving the problem.
They already made a fix and after testing will push it out in the next version.
Asustor support has been extremely good and fast for me so don't be afraid to send a message!

Re: Backup's "spill over" into main backup folder
Same happened to me.
It's caused when the SOURCE path/filename is too "deep" (long). Those files are then put (without path) in the DESTINATION root folder you assigned to the backup.
The only solution i found was to (manually) shorten path and/or filenames from the source path; when done the issue disappears.
cheers.

If you own a series 2/3/6 Asustor it's very likely you won't get XBMC 13.x/Kodi.
But easily you'll end buying a kitchen from UK.
