Aloha!
Just completed setup of AS1004T with three 4TB drives in RAID5, and I have a few questions:
1) Is 50% memory usage expected with only the default applications installed?
2) Many processes have multiple instances - for example "lighttpd" shows 12 or more instances, all sleeping.
3) Is access to the terminal only via SSH, or can I launch terminal within ADM?
Thanks!
Alan

Re: Memory usage - multiple process instances - terminal
2) It's normal. lighttpd is a web server for ADM (like apache).
3) You can use ssh terminal tool after you enabled it in ADM. You can install ShellInABox application from AppCentral to have terminal function on web browser.

Re: Memory usage - multiple process instances - terminal
Mahalo Orion,
That helped quite a bit. Of course enabling SSH and installing ShellInABox has increased memory usage at idle to 82%.
I'm undecided about keeping my AS1004T, it's inexpensive and is working well for file storage, but I can see there isn't much reserve capacity for apps.
For reference I'm on my 3rd Synology, currently a DS1515+ (5-bay), and I also have a Qnap TS-228 (2-bay).
My plan is to use the Asustor to backup my Synology using Robocopy, and it's working for that.
Thanks again!
