Hi,
I don't know if this is the right thread but, I've got a problem with the file system.
for example: one mp3 file changes in a folder, within that folder a file i just copied.
i can't remove the folder, only as sudo
the share is shared through SMB2/3 and NFS, file / folder structure looks the same on windows and Ubuntu
ADM version 3.4.6.RDF3
4 disks 3T in raid-5
not shared on the internet,
virus scans with avast an clamav give no results.
options within ADM ->
RAID Scrubbing no result. all OK.
disk docktor all ok
s.m.a.r.t. al ok
some people suggested to do a fsck on de filesystem, but i cant get it done through SSH . command umount /dev/md1 looks like its working but fsk or e2fsk don't work because:
e2fsck 1.42.6 (21-Sep-2012)
/dev/md1 is mounted.
e2fsck: Cannot continue, aborting.
can someone help me out here? i lack the proper linux knowledge
Thanks

Re: strange behaviour files and folders
Most-likely, it's related to permission settings. There are too many ways to access files in NAS. You'd better to provide the accessing way in details:
How do you "change your mp3 file"? (I mean which OS, which tool...)
How do you "remove the folder"?

Re: strange behaviour files and folders
it is shared with an mediaplayer through NFS and 1 PC with dualboot win10 (smb2/3) and ubuntu mate (NFS). also android phone SMB
nas is setup to share the folder to a few ip's as root(0)
the mp3 was copied ubuntu to NAS through nfs with qbittorretn. mkv was moved with caja as user not admin (default ubuntu-mate)
i did sometimes do this: "sudo chmod -R ugo+rw /folder" from ubuntu to get access to files witch where locked.
now i can remove the folder without sudo after raid scrubbing.
found out that some files that are no longer there can't be copied again to nas, gives an can't access error (with ADM file explore on webinterface and ubuntu)
edit:
with ssh as root on nas: command dmesg errors by example:
mounting fs with errors, running e2fsck is recommended
and: lots of these
[266776.678313] EXT4-fs error (device md1): ext4_lookup inode #171704321: comm nfsd: deleted inode referenced: 171704403

Re: strange behaviour files and folders
Well, that's more complex environment than mine. It looks like that you can clarify the settings about access rights by yourself.
I have no ideas about "i can remove the folder without sudo after raid scrubbing" and "EXT4-fs error (device md1)". That's really odd. NFS and SMB should not result in those troubles normally (file system error). Did you turn NAS off without graceful shutdown? If no, I think you should report it to asustor directly. https://support.asustor.com/

Re: strange behaviour files and folders
didn't turn it off other than 'normal' as far that i know,
I'll create a ticket with asustor, thanks for the effort anyway.
