Hi there,
I have a as1004t with 3 x 2TB hdds.
What I've done ist to place the 3 hdds into the slots and pushed the "on" button..
Since then (~24hours) the status led is blinking..
Now my questions:
- Does this first boot really takes such long time?
- The Asustor does not get a ip address.. Is this a normal behaviour?
Thanks in advance
First time boot takes reeeaaaally long..

Apparently, it's abnormal (the status led had been blinking for 24 hours). However, no clues about what happened. You can remove all of HDDs, then restart NAS. The status LED should be in steady state within 0 - 2 minutes. After done, push your disks back to NAS. Use Asustor control center tool on your PC to find the NAS, then launch a browser with the IP address. Follow the wizard to setup your NAS.

Hi orion,
thanks for the tipp.. I started the nas without the disks and had the same behaviour.. (waiting now for about 10 minutes)
I already thought about resetting it "hard" but that doesnt work either.. how long do I need to push the reset button?

I believe your NAS is in bad state (blinking). You should contact to asustor support for helps. https://support.asustor.com/
PS: "Reset button on the NAS back side": you'll need to push and hold the button for 10 seconds. Then you should hear a beep sound. The requirement is that NAS should be in working state (yours is not in working state).

Hey.. thanks for your advice. I think Ill need to contact the support.
because pushing the reset button for half a minute did not the job.. no beep, no reaction..
One idea: Do you know if all of the screws need to be on place?

I'm not sure what you mean. But I think the answer should be yes (60% confidence).Eddy2909 wrote: One idea: Do you know if all of the screws need to be on place?

You saw "Starting message" on a browser. So you got NAS IP address, right? That should be different issue from OP's one. What's "Starting message"? You'd better to post the picture here.allmac wrote:Solved? I have the same problem. First boot after buy it, and only Starting message appears.
