Suspicious login attempts
Good Morning. I'm getting notifications that there are login attempts via SSH from ip address 127.0.0.1. Is this address not the local host? I do not know what is happening. Can anyone tell me what might be going on?

Not sure if this is the same thing but lately the log shows a pile of failed log in attempts - it's all MY IP address. I log in just fine so I am not sure whats this is about.

Hm, weird. How are you connected to the NAS? Is SSH activated?

Hi ninecats
If your asking me, NAS is connected to a router - no other complications. I am looking at installing a switch to connect a second NAS for backup but at this point it's just the router. I have not enabled SSH to my knowledge (I am a rookie so just about anything is possible)

The NAS is connected to a router and when I receive notifications SSH is enabled. I disabled it because it was driving me crazy. I only enable it now when I need to do something at the end but it's very counterproductive to have to turn it on and off.ninecats wrote:Hm, weird. How are you connected to the NAS? Is SSH activated?
