New disk added, not active

Post by Sgang »

Hi everybody, i've an as3202T equipped with a WDred 3tb and latest ADM.
I recently added a new disk, a WDred 1tb, that's already formatted as NTFS (or fat i think) but ADM can see it plugged in ( but flagged it as Inactive.
There's something that i have to do to let the system use the additional space of this disk?

Thanks in advance

You should create a new volume on disk-2 (under ADM web -> Storage Manager -> Volume -> Create). This way will erase all of your data on that disk.

Thank you for your reply first of all :)

I can't see the new disk in "volume", just the one of 3tb that was already installed.
You mean i need to create there the volume and wipe also the actual 3 tb disk?

No. You should be able to see a wizard after you clicked "Create". You should see options: "Quick Setup" and "Advanced Setup". Did you see that? Or you'd better to post the pictures here.

I have the same problem. Added new disk. IT is listed as INACTIVE.
There is no way to create a NEW VOLUME because the button is inactive as well. I tested the disk and thest was succesful. I can see all disk info.
My volumes are:
- Vol-1 (disk 1)
- Vol 2 (disk 2 inactive) it is SSD
- Vol 3 (RAID/0 - disk3,4)

Also , when I list volumes I get API error message (no details).

If there is an error message, it must be something wrong. However we can gather no further clues. I think you should contact to asustor support directly.
