Cannot restart or shutdown completely the NAS from the ADM portal

ADM not influent, it's the current version but the problem was there also with the previous ones
Raid 5 with 4*2TB disks

Hi all,
I cannot restart or completely shutdown the NAS from the ADM portal. If I go and restart / shutdown it looks like it shutdowns every process but the NAS itself hangs and I need to do the long press on the power button.

This is going on since a couple of years (maybe since I bought the nas).
I already tried to disable all the apps and then enable them one by one and rebooting each time, every reboot was fine but after two/three weeks it started hanging again.

I already had this problem with my previous Netgear NAS (maybe it's me?!?), and the solution wat to ssh to it with putty and delete the log file which was too large (some megaB) and was no more handed by the system.
I tried to find something similar in the Asustor but didn't find anything.

Does anyone has some hint?

Mine is just fine (AS6404T, however I usually set NAS to sleep mode, rather than shutdown).
When your NAS got stuck, can you ssh into your NAS? If yes, you might be able to gather more detailed information (dmesg and ps)...

Could you tell me where to find dmesg and ps? in root dir?

Both dmesg and ps are commands. You can execute them directly within ssh. "dmesg" will output kernel messages. "ps" will show all of process state.

However you'll have to know Linux well to understand / utilize those information. Did you send a support ticket to asustor? That might be a faster way to find a solution.

Did it last year, they told me to to disable the apps and then reenable them one by one.
I did so and everything went right, so I closed the ticket.
But after a while the problem appeared again
however I usually set NAS to sleep mode, rather than shutdown
I will do so
It seems it has no problem going in sleep mode and WOL
