missing operating system

Post by luisantunes »

Hi,
A friend of mine gave me a NAS AS6102T with TruNas installed.
I deleted the partitions from the two disks and now I wanted to install the ADM but i don't understand how to do that.
when I turn on the NAS the green light blinking and I can't find the NAS on the network...
how can i install operating system on NAS?

thank you very much

You'll probably need to revert make it boot back into the DOM from the BIOS/UEFI. Refer to the last step in this guide as reference https://nascompares.com/2022/09/30/how- ... ustor-nas/.

External 5 Bay USB3:

- 480GB Intel SSD for modded dm-cache (initramfs auto update patch) and Apps

Hi Nazar78,

unfortunately it didn't work I can enter the BIOS without problem I change the parameter but NAS does not boot in ADM
if it were possible to install the ADM by pendrive maybe it would work

After setting the default DOM in the BIOS boot manager, try booting without the HDDs. Then look in your router for the NAS IP then browse to its port 8000 to initialize the NAS.

If you still can't see the NAS IP, try booting into a Live USB or Ubuntu Installer (without install) see if you can list out the DOM's 3 partitions. The last two similar partitions you can dump the image extracted from the firmware download but the first partition boot loader not sure if you can use from another Asustor NAS model.

Let us see your DOM partitions and contents. If it's similar to mine, I can post it here. Or if it's not, you'll need to find someone with the same model or reconstruct the grub perhaps even the partitions.

How about the EFI partition contents?

May be you could download the firmware then extract the latest into both 256MB partitions.

You need to extract the files in the img, use something like 7zip manager to tar-gunzip. Replace the files in both your DOM partitions, recommend to back it up prior.
