Looks to be very similar in appearances to Plex Media Server. Might fit your needs as well, or perhaps even better....

Just a thought, anyway....

the difference is that mediabrowser has hardware transcoding built in. PLex doesn't seem to want to support it...

Well, I can venture a guess that Asustor isn't going to port over this code for their NAS's. This is something that Media Browser is going to have to port to Asustor, much the same way that Plex was ported to Asustor by a member of the Plex team.

You might get better results requesting this on Media Browser's forums (if they have one.) rather than here.

Just my thoughts on it.

Hey,

I created a MediaBrowser v3 package half a year ago and did update it end of last year. Give it a spin but don't expect any wonders it's only tested on a AS-202T and a AS-604T.

Media Browser v3.0.5445.6 for Any ASUSTOR. MediaBrowser requires Mono from the ASUSTOR App Store.

Cheers
Thomas

In the AppCenter disable and enable again. For me auto-updating did not work and there's no button to restart, only to stop AFAIK.

thanks MrK.
problem : MediaBrowser does not scan properly. Indeed it sees one file and for it this is "finished" => i only have one file on the tv with the refresh hahaha

Hi guys,

Mediabrowser - http://emby.media/
(Mrk had created Mediabrowser package a year ago.)
I saw both mediabrowser, and ASUSTOR update the mono to 3.10 .
So I decide to make a udpated mediabrowser with 3.0.5607, and
based on ASUSTOR's Mono 3.10.0.r1.

If you are interested, you can download to play media browser.
The App is in my dropbox
(https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vnn8opjesvgp ... Kc7Ka?dl=0)
mediabrowser_3.0.5607.r1_i386 for AS2/AS3
mediabrowser_3.0.5607.r1_x86-64 for AS5/AS6/AS7

1) Functions: It is very powerful, but I don't have time to try every functions yet.
a) Live transcode:
Because Mediabrowser use ffmpeg to live transcode the video.
AS2/AS3 might not be powerful to play > 480p   :?
AS6 is suggested with > 2GB memory, and play 480p ;)
AS5/AS7 is able to play 720p :D

b) DLNA:
I had tried with Samsung, and LG SmartTV. video/photo/music is able to play from TV

c) subtilte:
It can grab subtitle from opensubtitle ( http://www.opensubtitles.org - register an account)

2) mobile App
iOS:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/media-b ... 58087?mt=8
(Mediabrowser for iOS is not support subtitle, and music/photo yet)

Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... mb.android

Have a nice weekend,
