Post by ssrioux »

Help me!

I buyed a new AS5104T for replace my AS-604T.

I move the HDD from AS-604T to AS51004T. After, the AS5104t don't boot. I proceed to a replacement AS5104T with NCIX. The other AS5104T have the same problem...don't boot!

What's the problem?

Thanks

I believe it's not a HW issue. According to information that I got from asustor support guy, NAS should boot up correctly (move HDDs from a old NAS to a new NAS). I think you should send a support request to asustor. They should be able to figure it out. Please post result here. That can help the others.

Thanks;

if i move the HDD in my old NAS AS-604T; the AS-604T boot normally. I move again the HDD in AS-5104T and the AS-5104T don't boot.

I tryed to insert one HDD after one in AS-5104T.

After the first HDD, the AS-5104T boot normally.
After the second HDD, the AS-5104T boot normally.
After the third HDD, the AS-5104T boot normally.
After the fourth, the AS-5104T don't boot.

I thought that a HDD was faulty; i tried an other HDD for the fourth HDD and i have the same problem. Don't boot.... The AS-604T boot normally with the same HDD.

It's the second AS5104t with the same problem! Bizarre!

Oops, sounds weird. What's your HDD model? And you may try to insert the first and the 4th HDDs only to see if NAS can boot up (of course, you cannot access your data if volume configuration is RAID).

Hello,

I inform you of the solution to the problem ... it can help .

I had many communications with Asustor and we never found the problem .

I have 4 HDD Seagate 2TB ( ST2000DM001 ) .

As soon as the four were in the NAS HDD , it not reboot. Less than 4 HDD , no problem.

So I purchased a HDD of another brand - Toshiba .

I reset the NAS to factory settings and I put it off.

I inserted the new Toshiba HDD in slot 1 and the 3 Seagate in the slot 2,3,4.

In this way , everything works normally. No problems. :-)
