[solved] various owncloud issues

ownCloud gives you universal access to your files through a web interface or WebDAV. It also provides a platform to easily view & sync your contacts, calendars and bookmarks across all your devices and enables basic editing right on the web. Installation has minimal server requirements, does not need special permissions and is quick. ownCloud is extendable via a simple but powerful API for applications and plugins.

[solved] various owncloud issues

Post by bobby_light »

READ EDIT AT THE BOTTOM!

Ok, so the title pretty much says it all. I'm new to the asustor so I might have missed something crucial. sorry in advance for my newbieness ;)

I got a ddns from no-ip on my asustor and i forwarded port 8001 in my router. then installed the owncloud app on the asustor and set it up.
I can access it when I use local ip, but when I try to access through the dns address, it just wont connect.

These are the variations I have tried (lets say my address is nas.no-ip.org) :
nas.no-ip.org/owncloud/
nas.no-ip.org:8001/owncloud/
http://nas.no-ip.org/owncloud
http://nas.no-ip.org:8001/owncloud
https://nas.no-ip.org/owncloud
https://nas.no-ip.org:8001/owncloud

Is there anything I'm missing? Any other settings, ports i should forward, etc I should do?

Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks in advance! Also, sorry if I posted in the wrong section!

EDIT: OK, so I seem to have figured it out. I must have missed the "How-To" thread earlier when I searched. Sorry for that
Also, I followed the updated guide to install owncloud a few posts down in this thread, i.e. I didn't install the phpMyAdmin app and setup SQL db. Isn't that needed anymore, since it's not in the second tutorial, or was the second one an addition to the first? Sorry if my questions are stupid. I'm not _that_ tech savvy! ;)

EDIT 2: Think I have solved the issues now. Sorry for the mess of a post. Now, if anyone know how to upload multiple pictures from my phone to the cloud, or to set a sync folder on my phone, that would be rad
