I'm considering replacing my current NAS setup (Buffalo Linkstation) with either a Synology or an Asustor. One key requirement is that the NAS be connected to an APC UPS (via USB) and control the shutdown of other elements on the LAN, including the PC. Is the same arrangement possibly with Asustor? Or is there another way of doing it?

Hi Atiras,
Yes, Asustor NAS can work as a Network UPS server under Master mode (the NAS which connects directly to UPS) and also work as a Slave mode. Under slave mode, you only have to enable the network UPS in External Device/UPS and then input the IP address of the Master Network UPS server.
