App compatibility?

I am looking at the AS-608T

I am a long time XBMC user, all the way back to XBOX 1, thus it has become a key part of my life. I was about to click buy-now on the AS-608T and thought I should check a little more first. On the app page XBMC will only show when I click AS3 series. Also this forum suggests it does not work on the 6 series, http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=172122

Can someone confirm if it does work on the 6 series please?

If not, any idea why? It makes me nervous if that the series 3 & 6 might have a different OS as one may get dropped at some stage.

6 series CURRENTLY doesn't have XBMC (it has Boxee).

However, I did get XBMC running on my 604T as an alpha/beta app. I have not updated this to run with the latest firmware because Asustor have created an XBMC App for 3 series and are working on an XBMC App for 6 series.

I can't say exactly when this will be out, but I can say it will (if it doesn't come out soon I'll update my own )

Also, if you watch 1080p, my advice would be to go the 6 series over the 3 series as it has a more powerful CPU and has expandable ram (i.e. should give better video playback)

Note. I have tested 720p playback on series 3 and this is fine... also with Plex 720p is fine on 3 series, but 1080p can get choppy...

Clinton is right. Don't worry, we are currently working to get XBMC ready for the 6 series. All of our NAS series have the same OS: ADM 2.0.
