Multiple volumes across four disks?

I'm thinking of buying a 604 to replace my broken TS-259 but have a query about RAID creation. If I install two 3TB and two 2TB drives then create a RAID5 volume, will the remaining 1TB on the 3TB drives be accessible to create a RAID1 volume or is it lost? I know I can do this with the Highpoint RAID controller in my WHS2011 machine but I don't know how clever the Asustor controller/firmware is.

I believe it is lost, of course I could be totally wrong :) if you create a raid 5 with 2 2tb and one 3tb disk the raid is based on the smaller disks but if you swap them to 3tb you can grow to the larger size.

Having now RTFMed I believe you're right. Fortunately, it's not a problem. It would have offered an alternative solution to which of my HDDs I used in it but it just means I take all the 2TB drives out of my WHS2011 machine.
