Please un-install entware-ng before installing new Entware

Entware-ng is A modern Optware/ipkg replacement ; Entware-ng is package repository for embedded devices. These packages allow you to add new functionality to your device. Most of them taken from OpenWRT, but others are unique.

Entware-ng exist for x86, x86_64 and armhf architecture

Entware-ng also replace astware to use common base for ALL OpenWRT platform

Optware/Ipkg is obsolete, not maintened and not secure ... (abandoned)

Please un-install entware-ng before installing new Entware

Post by rjpa123 »

Hello,

I recently acquired an AS4004T.
It is running ADM 3.2.4.RNN1.

I installed Entware-ng version 0.97.4 and received the WARNING event:
"Entware install don't match architecture ... aarch64"

Entware-ng does not show as an installed application in the installed application list.

I then tried to install Entware version 1.0.0 and received the ERROR event:
"Please un-install entware-ng before installing new Entware"

So now I cannot uninstall or install any version of Entware.

I opened a ticket (number 27270) in the Asus Support Center over two weeks ago but still have not received any feedback.

Please help.

Hi,

Check for /usr/local/AppCentral/entware-ng
if exist delete them
rm -rf /usr/local/AppCentral/entware-ng

Seem that architecture error don't delete the folder (as he do) ... after the previous error

Philippe.

Thank you, Philippe.

Your instructions provided the exact solution to my problem.

If only the Asustor support were as efficient as you are :)

Thank you again, Philippe.
Have a wonderful 2019.
