TeamSpeak 3 problems after ADM 2.3.0.RBS1 update

TeamSpeak 3 continues the legacy of the original TeamSpeak communication system previously offered in TeamSpeak Classic (1.5) and TeamSpeak 2. TeamSpeak 3 is not merely an extension of its predecessors but rather a complete rewrite in C++ of its proprietary protocol and core technology.

TeamSpeak 3 problems after ADM 2.3.0.RBS1 update

Post by marped01 »

Ive been having issues getting the TS3 service to start after the ADM update from today, so far ive managed to get it working by following advice on the error from this post http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.p ... ng-service, some sort of mount point thats missing?, not sure if anyone else have experienced the same or if its just me.. also getting a blank page when trying to access the nas webinterface.. have to reboot the nas to resolve this error.

blank page when accessing ADM interface? Is this only after running the mount command suggested by TeamSpeak, or after a certain time etc?
If restarting fixes this, what is it that causes the problem?
The reason I ask is that I don't want to apply some "fix" to teamspeak if it is going to cause major problems for ADM etc...

the blank ADM page was the first error i encountered right after the update finished(so before i did the mount fix), sometimes i have to reboot the nas 2-3 times before correct page shows, other times it works on first go but then bugs out after 15-30mins...

but are others having issues with TS3 not starting?

Please post this in the ADM sub-forum, or even raise a support ticked with Asustor.

I believe it is important to have this fixed first... this may fix the issue with TeamSpeak. If (most likely) not, then i can apply a fix to the Teamspeak start script...

Just did more testing to be sure, the mounting of /dev/shm does seem to provoke the error with ADM not loading... but cant get TS to run without it.. the "fix" is also on their knowledge site https://support.teamspeakusa.com/index. ... i-fix-this

Thinking it might have been a one time fluke, that the ADM started bugging after the update, ill leave it running without mounting "/dev/shm" se if its working tomorrow... ill be doing a factory reset soon anyways tho, so if none else is having this TS3 problem, that will most likely fix it..

just waiting for a 2TB external disk to arrive with the mail.

So what was the command you ran?

Code: Select all

mount -t tmpfs tmpfs /dev/shm
?
if so... did you run this as admin, or root user?

Can you open the file /etc/fstab
and show what this looks like? on mine this looks like

Code: Select all

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount pt> <type>	<options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts defaults,gid=5,mode=620 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0
Also, can you show the contents of the directory /dev/shm if it exists? Or otherwise confirm if this doesn't exist? It exists, but is blank on my system.

proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts defaults,gid=5,mode=620 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0
Used the command as root, if i try to use it as admin... it fails and ask's if am root?

Seems the mount command f's up some other stuff like the ADM loading, Storage manager crashes also.

we have same unit btw, can se from your forum sig, ive just completed a fresh factory reset and problem with TS3 persists(above info is from before reset, same results after)

i just did a manual run with server version 3.0.11.1 and it runs without any of above issues.

downloaded it from TS3 website and put it in public, unpacked and startet it as root with

Code: Select all

./ts3server_startscript.sh start
